HERSEKZADE AHMET PASA

Hersekzade Ahmet Paşa, who entered the palace service after the conquest of Hersek by Fatih Sultan Mehmet in 1463, quickly gained the trust of the Sultan and served in various capacities at the palace. After the death of Fatih, he became the Beylerbey of Anatolia, a vizier in 1492, and the grand vizier in 1497. In 1504, he became the Governor of Gelibolu and the Captain of the Sea. Later, Hersekzade Ahmet Paşa was appointed grand vizier twice. In all sources, he is known as a competent, trustworthy, honest, and heroic statesman.
Hersekzade Ahmet Paşa passed away on July 21, 1517. His body was buried in the mausoleum next to the mosque he had built in the village of Hersek.

 

 

HERSEKZADE AHMET PAÇA CAMI

1508 yilinda Hersekzade Ahmet Pasa tarafindan yaptirilmistir. 1766 depreminde yikilan camii, Kemankes Ismail Aga tarafindan 1774 yilinda yeniden yaptirilmistir. 1965 ve 1999 yillarinda meydana gelen depremlerde büyük hasar gören yapinin restorasyon projesi Yalova
Valiligince, restorasyonu ise Bursa Vakiflar Bölge Müdürlügünce yaptirilarak 15.11 2008 tarihinde yeniden hizmete açilmistir.
Yapi kare planli olup, tamamen kesme tastan yapilmistir. Ana mekan 16.25 x 16.20 m. ölçülerinde kursun kapli kubbeyle örtülüdür. Dört sütunlu ve üs bölümlü son cemaat yerinin üzerini sag ve solda birer kubbe ortada aynali tonoz örtmektedir. Camiinin bati duvarinda kesme tas ve tugladan yapilmis olan tek serefeli minaresi bulunur.
