Yalova Karaca Arboretum

The Karaca Arboretum is located on the Yalova-Termal road, 5 kilometers from the city center, within the boundaries of Samanlı Village. It was established by Hayrettin Karaca in 1980 on a 13.5-hectare area. The arboretum is a living tree museum with a landscape-focused collection. Today, it hosts approximately 7,000 different plant species, subspecies, varieties, and cultivars.

The Karaca Arboretum is Turkey's first private arboretum.

The Karaca Arboretum houses notable collections of many important species and cultivars from genera such as Acer, Prunus, Malus, Magnolia, Quercus, Betula, Pinus, Abies, and Picea. The arboretum is open to the public on Sundays from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. It is also open on other days of the week for groups and schools with prior appointment. The guided tour lasts 1.5 hours. Visits are made by donating to the TEMA Foundation in exchange for a receipt. The Karaca Arboretum is visited by approximately 15,000 local and foreign visitors annually.
